Nick Lachey on engagement
For one to normally keep his private life on the down low since his highly publicized marriage and divorce to Jessica Simpson, I find it a tad interesting that the former boy-bander is foaming at the mouth with details of his upcoming nuptials.
Is he just over-the-moon or is he just throwing in a few jabs towards his ex? Just askin’!
Nick recently flapped his trap to Access Hollywood dishing on his relationship with Vanessa and their engagement. He gushes, “I think that we have a great relationship. The good thing about our situation is that we kind of took our time with it. We’ve been together four and half years, so it’s just, the right thing at the right time for us.”
Although they had a brief split in 2009, he says it was more spiritual than anything. He explains, “We took a break for a little while there… I think that’s a healthy thing sometimes, when you’re kind of going through the growing process. The way I’ve always looked at it is, if you come out on the other side and you’ve learned something and you can kind of apply it to the next time that situation comes up, then you’re growing as a couple, and that’s what exciting to me. If you continue to grow as a couple, then you’re in good shape.”
So what about that big moment? Lachey didn’t divulge too much saying, “We had a great evening, a great day, it just seemed like the right time. It was a romantic moment, a perfect moment, and she said, ‘Yes,’ so that was the most important part.”
Somewhere Jessica Simpson is telling herself she didn’t screw up.
