Former NFL star Chad Ochocinco Johnson has formally been charged with misdemeanor battery for domestic violence against his wife, Evelyn Lozada, according to Broward County’s State Attorney. The couple, who had barely been married a month before this incident, are estranged from one another as of now, and Chad could face up to a year of jail in Florida if convicted of the charge.
On August 11th, Johnson was arrested in Florida after fighting with his wife over a condom receipt which turned violent. Allegedly, the former Miami Dolphins player even headbutted his wife. Since the incident, Evelyn has filed for divorce and is quoted as calling her marriage “irretrievably broken”. Although Lozada is proceeding with a divorce, Chad is refusing to sign the papers, as he claims to still be in love with her.
Because nothing says love more devoutly than a headbutt to the cranium, right? It never ceases to amaze me how many women would consider taking him back just because he apologizes.
