Robert Pattinson, Ancestry.com reveals relation to Dracula
Conveniently revealed just as Eclipse hits theaters, the peeps over at ancestry.com did some digging and found out Edward Cullen Robert Pattinson really is a vampire. Okay, so not exactly. Actually, he’s just related to Vlad Dracula.
For all you non-history buffs, Vlad Dracula was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula. You know, the original vampire of literary fame. Vlad himself wasn’t actually a vampire, at least not in the modern sense of the word, but he was a pretty mean dude. After all, you don’t get the nickname “Vlad the Impaler” when you’re full of warm fuzzies.
Anastasia Tyler of ancestry.com said, “Tracing Pattinson’s family back to Vlad was difficult research, but the pieces that unraveled created the perfect accompaniment to the Twilight Saga.”
As it turns out Mr. Pattinson is also related to the British royal family, which can also be traced back to Vlad. But that’s not quite as news worthy. Oh, and Stephanie Meyer is also related.
Now ancestry.com needs to get to work proving that Taylor Lautner really is Native American. I can’t help but find it funny that they can trace Robert Pattinson’s family tree back to the 15th century but Taylor’s mother’s cousin’s husband’s brother was actually Native American- or something like that.
