If you are a fan of Good Morning America, you may have already heard, but co-anchor Robin Roberts is dealing with another health scare.
On Monday, Robin Roberts gathered with her team to make a special announcement to her viewers regarding a new challenge she will face.
She explains she is dealing with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), a bone marrow disease found in 12,000 new cases per year. Robin says she will receive chemotherapy treatment as well as bone marrow transplant from her older sister later in the year.
“My doctors tell me I’m going to beat this, and I know it’s true,” Robin Roberts says to the viewers. Things are especially promising for Robin Roberts because of her good health and her young age.
When the news broke, well wishers spoke out over Twitter, including Michelle Obama who tweeted:

Not to mention how inspiring Robin Roberts story was! According to Dr. Richard Besser who Robin Roberts states has been a great resource and support system for her, the BeTheMatch.org site, a donor database registry, crashed at one point.
He tweeted:
