Sandra Bullock may have had quite the shitty year, but 2007 was also a crappy one for the students at a New Orleans high school who experienced the devastation of the floods and destruction of Hurricane Katrina. But with America by her side and Sandra in the students’ court, everyone involved have been able to take negative situations and turn them into positive a one.
It was back in 2007 when Sandra B. took a New Orleans high school class under her wing in sort of an ‘adoption’ effort. Well that class now has seen a 100% graduation rate. Yes, 100 FREAKIN’ percent which is amazing for school systems in the south.
CNN is reporting that on Tuesday that all 220 12th graders at Warren Easton Charter High School received diplomas AND over four million dollars in scholarships from 15 different colleges and universities. THAT is nothing short of amazing and you can bet honorary mama Sandra is proud of the time, money and efforts she put forth to help build up the school.
Sandra said, “I cannot express how proud I am of the 2011 graduating class at Warren Easton. To achieve a 100% graduation rate just goes to show that the recipe for success lies under that roof – people who believe, people who love and support, and people who don’t take no for an answer.”
Kudos to everyone! Moral of the story is: You can make anything happen with Sandra Bullock on your side.
