Scala & Kolacny Brothers, “Use Somebody”
You’ve most likely heard the rock choir Scala & Kolacny Brothers, even if their name doesn’t quite ring a bell. That’s because they are the voices behind their haunting rendition of Radiohead’s “Creep” as heard on the trailer for The Social Network. Admittedly, this is how I first discovered them for myself. Since then, I’ve been enamored with their music and was literally counting the days until their US album was released this week. Now, it’s here, and it’s every bit as awesome as I suspected.
Along with the release of their album, Scala has released a video for “Use Somebody“, originally performed by Kings of Leon. Check out the video after the jump!
Scala & Kolacny Brothers celestial sounding US album features three original songs, as well as hits by Oasis, Metallica, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, U2 and more.
Their unique sound is brought together by Scala, a Belgian singing choir that boasts over 200 young women ages 16-26, and the Kolacny Brothers- Steven (piano) and Stijn (conducting). They’ve become an international phenomenon, and listening to their work it comes as no surprise.
Their self-titled US album is available at iTunes and on Amazon. Be sure to check out their website HERE and follow them on Twitter and Facebook. Take a listen to “Use Somebody” below and let me know what you think! Enjoy!
