Sean Penn, Robin Wright divorce
After first separating last August, PEOPLE reports that actor Sean Penn and Robin Wright have finalized their divorce- as in they’ve reached a truce on matters of who gets what when all is said and done. I guess this means the indecisive on again off again couple are actually done, at least for now.
While the two have two kiddos together, only one is old enough to haggle over in terms of custody- 17 year old ‘Hopper Jack.” (Their daughter Dylan is 19). No word on who their son will be living with, but at 17 it was most likely his choice to make and lacking any significant custody battle drama.
Sean and Robin were married for 11 years before first filing for divorce and since then they have filed for divorce, then reconciled, then filed for divorce, and reconciled again. It’s a vicious cycle, ya’ll. Now the two can continue to “reconcile” as they see fit but they are officially and legally single. Considering that they first uttered the word ‘divorce’ in 2007, that’s pretty impressive.
Robin has suggested that the two will remain friends, but the ever-stubborn Penn doesn’t seem to indicate that he has any plans for the same. In fact, in the July issue of Vanity Fair, he talks of their split, saying, “[Robin] is a ghost to me now. We spent all those years together… Now she’s just gone.”
Oh Sean, you’re a dang good actor, but you really have to learn to get over yourself sometimes.
