Remember when girl groups were worth following around on and off the stage? Remember when there were so many good girl groups that you lost track of them and got them all confused? Remember when TLC was the biggest female group in the world? Remember where you were when Left Eye died and you thought their days were over?
Well, they were…until now!
After almost a decade away from the serious limelight, the time could be ripe for a TLC comeback. And ironically, it is on the network with the same initials as the Grammy-winning group.
TLC announced that it has ordered four episodes of a new show featuring Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins that will follow the singer as she attempts to revive her career in L.A. The show is expected to debut in early 2013. Hopefully, the show can invigorate her fan base and lead to a return to big things for the singer, who briefly appeared on Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice in 2009 before getting the boot.
And in one of the most heavily anticipated upcoming tours, TLC announced that they plan to start one next year with a hologram of the late Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes, similar to what was orchestrated with Tupac earlier this year.
