American Idol. Ahh. Sometimes it is just better when you aren’t the official title holder. Remember Jason Castro? Well, he made the top 3 and is preparing for his debut album release. And I must admit, although I wasn’t a huge fan of him on the show, his new album just may stand a chance. What is cool about Castro is that he engages with his fans. Check out Jason Castro’s season two trailer of his “That’s What I’m Here For” webisode series after the jump. He’s so dreamy.

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010If you can’t wait to watch tonight’s American Idol, we have the American Idol top 24 leakage going on here. While I am super duper excited about this year’s Idol competitors, I will say one of my faves is Andrew Garcia. He is like the Mexican John Legend.

Ellen Degeneres, New Judge on American Idol!
Friday, September 11th, 2009Screw the guest appearances, Ellen Degeneres has landed herself the position as the new judge on FOX’s American Idol.
Scott MacIntyre Is Freaking Pissed!
Monday, May 25th, 2009Whoa, whoa, whoa…watch out, bitches, American Idol finalist Scott MacIntyre is freakin’ pissed! The talented blind dude who made the top ten is now sounding off against FOX because one of his proud performances was cut from last week’s finale.
MacIntyre blogs about it on his Myspace, “Perhaps Tatiana and Bikini Girl were more important after all. According to some of the producers who witnessed our rehearsal, it was the most exciting and memorable number of the entire Finale show. Over the last few days I have tried to reason this out every way possible, and it makes no sense to me why one of the most compelling and unique performances of the show would be cut simply because the original artist wasn’t present.”
The finale performance was to include a piano dual between both MacIntyre and fourth-place finisher Matt Giraud. FOX says that Billy Joel was supposed to take part in the finale performance, but pulled out last minute and thus the reasoning behind the performance axe. However, a rep for Joel indicates that Billy was NOT invited to take part in the show.
Oh snap…so does FOX have something against MacIntyre?
Adam Lambert To Tour With KISS?
Friday, May 22nd, 2009Well, you knew after Idol that even though Adam Lambert lost the title that he would be just fine. And, he will.
Get this…after the Idol result show that wrapped up on Wednesday, KISS’ frontman Gene Simmons said that he would love for Adam Lambert to join his band on tour. Ummm, how freakin’ sweet is that?
Simmons told Extra, “He can come on tour whenever he’d like. Of course he’d have to put his armor on because the fans, especially the KISS fans, take no prisoners. You gotta go big. Gotta be strong. You gotta be a rock, baby!”
About Lambert’s presence on Idol’s finale, Simmons says, “Adam was fantastic. What a powerful and attractive man he is.”
So would Lambert take up an offer as such? In response to the offer Adam says, “That would be amazing … I would love that. That’d be such an honor. I had so much fun. To perform with KISS, I would love that. What a wonderful compliment. Thank you, Gene. That was very, very nice of him.”
Even though Lambert did not win the American Idol title, I’m thinking he will be JUST fine. In fact, if he DOES choose to join KISS at least he’ll have the makeup part down!
Matt Giraud Gets The Boot
Thursday, April 30th, 2009Last night was a disastrous night for me. If you haven’t heard…my Idol pick, Matt Giraud, was eliminated last night on American Idol. Boo hiss. What a travesty!
However…I do have high hopes for my Matt, who has a wealth of talent (and good looks) that should take him far. And while constant comparisons to Justin Timberlake are appreciated, Matt insists he’d much rather follow his own musical path.
Today Matt explained via teleconference, “A white guy with soul, that’s just how it works. … But I think I’m a lot different.” Even though he admires Timberlake he says, “it’s not where I want to go”. Understandably. Why be a freakin’ copy cat?
So WHEN he gets the chance to do an album, Matt said that he’d most like to do an album that’s “soulful rock with a twist of blues.”
Mmmm hmmm. We like that idea! Just keep wearing those fedora hats!
Adam Lambert To Win Idol?
Tuesday, April 28th, 2009Well, bitches…Sportsbook.com is at it again…making their crazy and (sometimes) accurate predictions. Yesterday we shared Sportsbook.com’s thoughts on DWTS…today we dish Idol. And, Sportsbook.com chooses Adam Lambert to win the title.
Whether you like it or not, the musical chameleon on Idol, Adam Lambert has adapted well to each week of the selected genre during show time. The pretty boy’s looks seem to add an additional appeal to Adam’s chances of bringing home the Idol title.
Tonight we will see whether Adam can tackle a song by the Rat Pack (Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin or Sammy Davis Jr.) and I wonder if the Los Angeles singer will once again be dubbed as “brilliant” by the judges.
According to Sportsbook.com, the only real threats to Lambert’s throne could be charming everyman Danny Gokey (3-to-1) and teen dream Kris Allen (5-to-1). Allison Iraheta and Matt Giraud are slotted for the bottom two.
Gotta love these predictions…even though the finalists haven’t even performed yet, anything is possible!
So what do YOU think?
