Talk about embarrassing! During a heartfelt tribute at the funeral of soul legend Etta James this past Saturday, singer Christina Aguilera suffered a major fashion faux pas. While singing James’ classic “At Last”, fake tanner could be seen running down the side and front of both of her legs!
Earlier on in her tribute, video shows her subtly wiping away the liquid with her sleeve before she sang her first note. Towards the end, she uses her left leg to blend the stain on her other leg.
A fake tan is supposed to dry for at least a few hours before coming in contact with liquid, which may have been sweat in Christina’s case, according to the NY Daily News.
Regardless, Christina continued her tribute, even speaking highly of James in an interview with PEOPLE the next day. “Etta wasn’t just any performer, she was a strong woman whose talent came from a place so deep it moved people in ways they never felt before. Losing her was, to me, like losing a part of my soul,” she said. ”I can only hope that she felt the love in the room as we all came together to pay tribute to her and celebrate her life as a person and as an artist. She will be deeply missed and I thank her family for allowing me such a great honor.”
James died on Jan. 20 at the age of 73 after battling leukemia and dementia.
Sucks that Christina’s tribute is overshadowed by this, but let it be a lesson learned! If you want to do a quick spray tan, take the time to let it dry properly! Other than that little tidbit, Christina’s performance was amazing! Check it out below!

When chubby women or has been chubby women fight, the outcome can be sugary. On E!s Fashion Police on Friday, once chubby Kelly Osbourne throw a big fat dagger at Christina Aguilera for that two sizes two small onesie that she tried to rock at the Michael Jackson Tribute concert.
And it doesn’t get even more harsh (okay, so I guess it COULD), but Osbourne basically says, “you’re fat, beotch!”
