Dog, that is.

Drew Barrymore stops by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on February 1st to chat with Ellen about her fiancé, Will Kopelman and how they met. Plus, Drew shows a picture of her newly adopted puppy Oliver.

ON HER ENGAGEMENT TO WILL KOPELMAN:

Ellen: So congratulations on your engagement. Tell us about the young man.

Drew: …He’s a good man. He’s a good person and I just feel really lucky and really happy and really calm. Which is a really wonderful feeling.

Ellen: Yes, it is. It’s nice when someone makes you calm.

Drew: He has this incredible family. I am as in love with his family as I am with him. Which is an extraordinary sort of gift. You never take that for granted.

Ellen: That’s lovely to like the family. Because it doesn’t always happen for everyone.

Drew: Very rare, sometimes. It really is an absolute blessing. I feel very lucky. They’re incredible people.

Ellen: Do you have a date set? Or just kind of take this slow?

Drew: We’re sort of figuring it out. This wonderful thing happened and I went on a press tour for this movie which is funny because it didn’t really give me any time to plan and yet a perfect time to ask questions. So the two didn’t really match up. So, I’m like oh gosh. I don’t know yet but we’re going to figure it out…

ON HOW SHE AND WILL MET:

Ellen: Where did you meet?

Drew: Funny enough we met at a party that neither of us wanted to go to. Goes to show you.

Ellen: Go to parties.

Drew: Leave the house.

ON HER NEW ADOPTED PUPPY OLIVER:

Ellen: Let’s talk about the new doggie that you just rescued. Literally, yesterday…

Drew: Two days ago.

Ellen: How did you find out about (the dog)?

Drew: Just stop it. Start it right now. (Shows photo of the dog)

Ellen: That is the cutest thing. How did you find out about the dog?

Drew: He looks like a bear. He looks like a tiny little bear. I can’t even handle it. He was a rescue dog. He was found in a box with his brothers and sisters outside of East Valley Shelter. And, this place on Fairfax, “Barks and Bitches”… They help foster the dogs and try to get them loving homes. So I think Ollie hopefully has hit the jackpot.

Ellen: Where you looking for a puppy?

Drew: I had puppy fever.

Ellen: You did? You needed a puppy?

Drew: I totally did.
