The Jason Wu for Target Commercial is Here!

Designer Jason Wu has been a red carpet staple for years. (He’s responsible for Michelle Williams‘ fab Golden Globe dress.) This fashionista squealed with glee when it was announced months ago that he would be following in the footsteps of designers such as Missoni and Thakoon and designing an exclusive line for Target. The commercial for Jason Wu’s Target collaboration (hitting stores February 5!) is out, and while you don’t have to be a cat person to enjoy it, it probably helps.

The 30-second spot sees the designer sketching in his studio, then leaving the room. In his absence, an illustration of his latest muse, the red bow-adorned Milu the Cat, comes to life and gets to work, finishing off a yellow knit top, running a red pleated blouse through the sewing machine, and sashaying past floral-print handbags and striped sundresses.

Now there’s a Stupid Pet Trick we’d like to learn!

The quirky commercial ends with Wu returning to find his work completed while Milu—who also stars in the collection’s print campaign—is transformed into a graphic tee alongside the tagline “Mischief is in the details.”

Look for the chic feline to resurface in the collection’s cat prints … coming soon to a shopping cart near you!

Michelle Williams covers GQ: Sexy or Uncomfortable?

Michelle Williams strips down to her panties and bra for GQ magazine. And while I know that she is purely in My Life as Marilyn Monroe movie promotional mode, I find this shoot rather uncomfortable. The interview was also a tad awkward as once again Williams is talking about her baby daddy Heath Ledger’s death. While I realize Heath’s passing was a trying time in Michelle’s life (especially for the sake of her daughter), I feel just a tad irritated that she is STILL using this topic as a form of promotion. Is this wrong of me to feel this way?

At any rate, check out the highlights from the interview where Williams talks about being “sexy” (which is odd in itself), her award-winning role as Marilyn and yes, once again…Heath Ledger below.

Michelle Williams, Golden Globes 2012 Winner!

Michelle Williams is a Golden Globes 2012 winner. So does this mean she may win an Oscar for her portrayal as Marilyn Monroe? There’s definitely a high possibility.

On an off topic note that I must address…one thing I noticed last night on the red carpet were the hideous headbands sitting atop the heads of grown, classy women and Williams was a headband casualty. While I do adore a fabulous headband from time to time, to wear one on the red carpet seems kind of juvenile. Williams chose a dark blue and black skin hugging Jason Wu gown, which suit her figure fabulously. The accessory? A big fat matching headband. Blech.

Anyways, moving on…Williams won for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe and so cutely, Michelle thanked her daughter Matilda saying that her “bravery and exuberance is the example that I take with me in my work and in my life. I consider myself a mother first and an actress second. I want to say thank you [to Matilda] for sending me off to this job every day with a hug and a kiss.”

Williams told Access Hollywood, “I was learning how to be in [Marilyn]… I was getting there and one of the ways that I practiced her was in the princesses in the bedtime stories. [My princesses] all had a kind of breathy quality.”

I adore Michelle Williams. She’s classy, real and she makes honest mistakes…like wearing a gawd awful headband with her gown to the Golden Globes.

Quote of the Day: Michelle Williams

“I wasn’t sure if acting was the right place for me. Or if I was any good or liked what I was doing anymore. It brought me back to life and reminded me, brought me back to myself.”

Michelle Williams does Marilyn Monroe better than Lilo ever could

I adore Michelle Williams and you want to know why? It’s because of her shy, timid demeanor and classy presentation of herself. Not to mention that she is also an amazing actress and she keeps her personal life as private as possible. What I don’t like about this Michelle Williams Vogue cover? Her Marilyn Monroe portrayal. Sure, she looks a bit like the blond bombshell and she certainly does a better Marilyn than Lilo, but man this is wrong for all of the reasons why I adore Michelle.

Marilyn wasn’t meek, mild and private. That beotch LOVED the cameras, the lime light, the parties and didn’t give a rat’s ass if her dress exposed her bloomers.

In an interview with Vogue, Williams chats about turning 30, playing Marilyn on the big screen and yes, Heath Ledger’s death. Check out the highlights below.
