Nick Carter Did Not Attend Sister Leslie Carter’s Funeral

So why didn’t Backstreet Boy Nick Carter attend his sister Leslie Carter’s funeral? According to Carter, nobody in his family TOLD him when the funeral was and where it was taking place.

Instead on Saturday (the same evening of the funeral), Carter gave a concert in Philadelphia AND hosted a party at a resort in Atlantic City but it wasn’t because he didn’t want to go see his sis laid to rest.

Nick told The Insider, “I wanted to be at my sister’s funeral, but my family has always had a complicated dynamic. I love my family. I want to thank everyone for all of their compassion and support that I have received during this most difficult time. There are so many emotions for me surrounding the loss of my sister. I am trying to stay healthy, positive and focused.”

It is sad to hear this. If you didn’t see the House of Carters on E! back in 2006, the instability of the family was evident. There obviously is more to what meets the eye and it is heartbreaking to hear that the family couldn’t at least get together in peace for Leslie despite their “complicated dynamic”.

Nick Carter to do GMA interview!

Nick Carter will be on Good Morning America (GMA) tomorrow to talk about his sister Leslie’s unexpected death. We will have the video here once we get our hands on it.

Even though we still don’t know the cause of Carter’s death and won’t for more than a month, her funeral preparations are underway.

ABCNews.com is reporting that Leslie will be buried next week in western New York. Chautauqua County coroner Richard Mackowiak said that

Carter’s cause of death will be determined after he receives toxicology reports in four to six weeks. Her family will decide whether or not to release her cause of death publicly. Mackowiak said Carter’s autopsy took place Wednesday morning and “as far as I’m aware, there was nothing unusual.” She was released from the coroner’s office yesterday and is now at a funeral home in Mayville, NY.

Both Nick and Aaron Carter released statements regarding their sister’s death and Nick announced that he would continue on with his nationwide tour in honor of Leslie.

Nick Carter Dedicates Rest of Tour to Late Sister

It is been a rough day or so for the Carter family. After losing Leslie, I can only imagine the pain and grief they must feel. Nick and Aaron both released statements about their loss.

Via Aaron’s rep:

Aaron Carter would like to thank all his fans, friends and especially his cast and crew at The Fantasticks for their outpouring of love and support during this tragic time. I am with my family spending much needed time together as we deal with this private matter. I look forward to returning to my Fantasticks’ Family and performing the role of ‘Matt’ for all my amazing fans. Again, I request privacy for my family and no further statements will be made at this time.

And Nick’s camp released the following:

Nick Carter is thankful to the many people and the fans who have shared their wishes and prayers during this tragic time. We want to let the fans know the tour will go on as promised. “Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform.” Also we ask that the press to respect Nick’s privacy during his time of grief.

For all of you Nick Carter fans who have purchased tickets for any of the other remaining dates of his tour, from what it sounds like the shows will go on.

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter may be promoting his new album “I’m Taking Off”, but he is also coming forward to talk about how he changed his life around after a few years of drugs, alcohol, dealing with fame and his rocky home life. Nick became famous at the young age of 12 when he was cast as a member of the Backstreet Boys. As you know, the group rose to superstardom selling millions of records, creating fan hysteria comparable to that of the Beatles. I know. I was there.

But it was behind the fame, the smiles and the money that created some big, unhealthy problems for Nick Carter. In a recent interview with Dr. Phil, Carter chats about his home life and how he conquered his demons and transformed his life into a healthy one.
