Kate Winslet admits it she was fat. Big. Round. Rotund. Pleasantly plump. In fact, I can just picture Kate jumping up and down at the site of an unopened bag of Ripple chips…sour cream and onion, to be exact. Kate seems like a sour cream and onion kind of girl. Raw chocolate chip cookie dough also presumably brought the Katester joy…so just to sit on her happy booty to pile on the pounds with a belly full of garbage had to feel like Thanksgiving Day without the tryptophan. But today as an actress, Kate is a little more cautious about her weight, even though many times she has said she was happy with her curves.
“As a young girl, I never felt attractive. I was fat and unhappy at times and that kind of thinking stays with you your entire life. There’s always going to be a part of me that worries about not looking as slim as other actresses. But at a certain point, when you achieve a lot of your goals and you can be proud of your work, you start to relax more about who you are. And that includes you appearance and self-image – I don’t think I look too bad for a mother-of-two. But woman shouldn’t have to feel the pressure to compare themselves to actresses or models.”
Kate also gives a big fat middle finger to all the bony skinny bitches out there…
“I like to think that I represent normal women who have flaws, who have had children, and don’t starve themselves or go to the gym.”
As far as losing weight for her sexy time scene for the movie “Revolutionary Road” (that her hubby directed)?
“I can’t say I was thrilled to go on set for those scenes but it’s part of my job as an actor to do that, so you just get on with it. I didn’t want to look extra fit for the role because that wouldn’t have made any sense. And I would have been miserable going on some harsh diet before the film. I didn’t want to put Sam or my kids through that.”
mmmhmmm.
