Ellen DeGeneres celebrated her birthday (Happy Birthday, Ellen!!) with a very special episode with co-host Jimmy Kimmel and Oscar Nominee Melissa McCarthy. Ellen and Jimmy chat with Melissa about attending the Golden Globe Awards for the first
time. Oh, and Jimmy dresses up as a bridesmaid (as you can see). Watch a clip from yesterday’s show below!

Rihanna Producing a British Fashion Show
Get ready Britain! A fashionista in her own right, Rihanna is headed over to Britain to find the hottest upcoming fashion designers for a new TV show. VIBE reports that the singer will be teaming up with Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts, who will serve as host, for the upcoming series. Rihanna herself will serve as executive producer on the untitled show, which will be released this summer.
Roberts and Rihanna will gather 10 contestants for a competition to design outfits for musicians and celebrities (Project Runway with a British flair? Nice.) The constestants’ final task will give them the opportunity to design an outfit for Rihanna’s Wireless performance in Hyde Park in July.
“I’ve always had a great love of fashion,” said Rihanna in a statement. “It’s a constant source of inspiration in my life, and is a big reason why I’ve grown into the person and artist I am today.” She continued: “I have been very fortunate to work with some truly amazing designers and stylists throughout my career, and they have been instrumental in making sure my creative vision reaches the stage. I am excited to follow the journey of our aspiring contestants and see how their individuality influences their efforts during the course of the show.”
So Rihanna may be having a really good time as of late, enjoying the fruits of her labor (smoking joints and hooking up with Chris Brown again?). But it’s good to see she still has the wheels in motion. This show might just be a hit! If not, she always has her music. Plus a nice role in the movie Battleship coming this summer!

Kim Kardashian Lands Role on ‘Drop Dead Diva’
Well, looky look at Kim Kardashian making her way in the acting world!
Access Hollywood has confirmed that the reality star will join the cast of Lifetime’s “Drop Dead Diva” for a recurring role in Season 4 of the show. Kim will play Nikki, a new love interest for angel-on-earth Fred (Ben Feldman). The new relationship will definitely stir up some trouble for Fred’s ex-girlfriend, Stacy (April Bowlby), who Nikki will team up with on a new business venture.
“I’m ecstatic to welcome Kim to the Diva family,” creator and executive producer Josh Berman said in a statement. “In discussing the role of Nikki with her, I’m blown away by her smarts, sense of humor, and passion. This series is all about reinvention and I’m so excited to see Kim ‘reinvented’ in the world of ‘Drop Dead Diva.’”
The show, which stars Brooke Elliott, begins filming its fourth season, next month, and will premiere in the summertime.
Meanwhile, Kim also has a role in the upcoming Tyler Perry flick, The Marriage Counselor, set to hit theaters on July 27, 2012!
Kim may only be famous for being on a reality show (among…other things), but she’s an entrepreneur. Say what you want about Kim, but you can’t say that she doesn’t get PAID! And Lifetime and Tyler Perry are very smart in casting her, because they will definitely pick up new viewers, just off of the fact that Kim was featured in their work. It’s a win-win. I can’t knock the hustle!
What To Watch Tonight
Friday is finally upon us. And I don’t know about you but it’s been a long week. To celebrate the weekend, grab your remote and a bottle of wine, and get ready, because it will be an awesome TV night. So, what are you going to be watching tonight? Well, here’s what I will be sure to catch…
Shark Tank (Premiere) (ABC, 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM PST)
I don’t know about you, but the show Shark Tank really makes me wish I had invented something. Too bad it takes a lot of work. So, I’ve decided to live through the success of perfect strangers who are about to make a ton of money right before my eyes.
Somehow that seems wrong. But, I’m addicted. You know you are too. And if you haven’t caught Shark Tank before, you will find yourself captivated by the inventions and business investments people are asking for, and the rich business people willing to give them money for it.
Primetime: What Would You Do? (ABC: 9:00 PM – 10:00 PM PST)
I love watching this show, even though it’s consistently set in New York (makes me want to move there, doesn’t it you?). Primetime: What would You Do? puts ordinary people into staged situations that forces them to think about what their role is in a potentially harmful situation.
Anyone else feeling the subliminal message in this one? Me too. I’m off to seek my good deed for the day, now…thank you very much.
Grimm (NBC: 9:00 PM – 10:00 PM PST)
Grimm is worth capturing at least for the main character, David Giuntoli because he is very cute. Ah, those dark eyes just get me. Doesn’t it you? Oh, the show. Tonight’s episode? Someone festering a dark childhood monster. Oh, and some gruesome murders are going down. As if there is any other kind?
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC: 11:35 – 12:37 AM PST)
I’m not usually a late night show kinda girl…but amongst the late night competitors, Jay Leno seems to win it tonight…his guests include Steven Tyler, Ryan Seacrest and Randy Jackson.
PLUS, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Randy Jackson perform. Am I the only one wondering where Miss Jenny is? Now, wouldn’t that be a four-some to see perform together.
Alright TV Watchers that’s my list for tonight. Have a great weekend and don’t forget to set your DVR!
Ricky Gervais to Host Golden Globes Sunday Night
Ricky Gervais is set to host the Golden Globes this Sunday!
Don’t you hate celebrity bashing? Don’t you hate when people talk bad about celebrities?
Why don’t they just let them be?
Kidding, people! Just making sure you were listening!
I don’t know about you, but after missing last year’s Golden Globe Award ceremony, I am making sure that I am not missing it this year. Why? Ricky Gervais.
Just like last year, Ricky Gervais tells Matt Lauer that he won’t back down from his style of hosting the show and does plan on bashing the celebrities we all know and love so much. I’m looking forward to it. In his interview with Matt Lauer, he seems very unapologetic about offending certain celebrities, “If you don’t let yourself be offended, you’re not offended.”
Suddenly, I’m becoming very glad that I’m not a celebrity. Aren’t you?
So, while we all sit back at home and enjoy the celebrity bash (and bashing), we can all take comfort in the fact that what we wear on the red carpet, what we weigh, and what our private lives are like won’t be scrutinized and made fun of for the whole world to see.
But, somehow I take great comfort in the lack of editing and scripting of what Ricky Gervais will bring to the show. Although there were rumors of Ricky having to submit a script pre-award show, Ricky Gervais warned via Twitter that the show, “it’s live! Ha!”
And while the celebrities squirm in their seats, the Golden Globes will finally become really, really interesting all over again. Let’s just hope they have him back for more next year.
Golden Globes airs Sunday Night at 8 PM ET.
Let the TV Holiday Specials Commence!
You know if television had a dinner table on Thanksgiving, it would probably include Charlie Brown, a float from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Lady Gaga (you’ll find out why), and a football player.
Talk about an awesome group to have as your Thanksgiving guests, right?
I don’t know about your household, but for mine…the television is definitely on while we finish up our turkey dinner. And this season, will be no different.
What To Watch This Weekend!
My favorite part of the week is finally here – the weekend! And I’m here to bring you a guide about what to watch this weekend. So remote-hoggers, channel flippers, popcorn chompers, and DVR addicts – get ready, because this weekend is packed with some awesome TV action.
Josh Groban is heading to The Office.

Josh Groban to appear on The Office
And no I don’t mean a “real” office. I’m talking about THE show.
Apparently Josh Groban is heading back to the small screen for a small role on The Office, so says Deadline. Groban is set to portray Ed Helm’s character as Andy’s brother on the hit NBC show. So, does this mean that the Grobes is going to be around on the show a bit longer than just one episode? That’s the rumor.
Here’s hoping there is a sing-off in the brothers’ future.

I blame Kate Gosselin for this one.
Wow. This year sure sucks hardcore for Kat Von D. I mean, geez, her house burned down. Her beloved pet cat died. And her engagement to Jesse James didn’t work out. I mean what else could possibly go wrong? What’s next? Her show LA Ink will be cancelled?
Hold up. My sources are telling me that yep, that JUST happened.
Radaronline.com is reporting that Kat Von D’s show LA Ink on TLC has been cancelled.
Details below.

You’ll never guess how much Idol is paying J.Lo to stick around…

Jennifer Lopez American Idol contract raise
I somehow knew Jennifer Lopez would be able to get herself an American Idol pay raise, but I certainly didn’t think that raise would be an extra EIGHT million dollars a year. Yep. RIDICULOUS! I guess TWELVE million dollars wasn’t enough to keep the diva around.
Alec Baldwin and 30 Rock go to Washington!
Well not really, but it looks like Alec Baldwin is considering a mayoral run.
For years, “30 Rock” star Alec Baldwin has been involved in political causes in addition to his film and television career. He has made several large monetary contributions to several Democratic organizations and was even considered to be a replacement for Keith Olbermann on the MSNBC political news show “Countdown.”

Why Wonder Woman Works Better As A Movie
NBC has dropped the TV show Wonder Woman even before ever hitting the tube. Maybe it’s time for Wonder Woman to hit the big screen instead?
This spring, no pilot was more buzzy, controversial, or intensely scrutinized than “Wonder Woman.” But evidently, buzz is not enough to overcome the stink of a misbegotten failure: This week, NBC declined to pick up the show.
