Brandy: Wedding Bells?

It looks like the R&B singer has finally got her man. According to Star Magazine, Brandy is soon to tie the knot to music producer Ryan Presson. The two were recently spotted together in Las Vegas over New Year’s. The two have been together for two years and a wedding is in the immediate future.

We wish Brandy all the luck in the world with this latest producer. She certainly has not had luck with them in the past. Brandy’s first marriage to a producer ended in divorce shortly after the birth of their child. The pregnancy instantly changed her pop image as a good girl. Think Britney Spears but with more melanin and vocal talent. Since her divorce, Brandy has been running around after a ~~check~~ man for years. We know that Thea money has dried up! Don’t be embarassed!

Aretha Franklin Calls Off Wedding

Looks like no wedding for the Queen of Soul any time soon. Just a few short weeks after announcing their engagement, Aretha Franklin and her fiance William ‘Willie’ Wilkerson have called off their wedding, which was supposed to take place this summer. According to PEOPLE, Aretha released a statement today:

“Regretfully, To Our Friends and Supporters: Will and I have decided we were moving a little too fast, and there were a number of things that had not been thought through thoroughly,” she said.

“There will be no wedding at this time. We will not comment on it any further because of the very personal and sensitive nature of it. We appreciate all of the many well wishes from friends.” The statement was signed “Aretha and Will.”

This is not necessarily saying that they’re over, or that there will never be a wedding. However, with the rate celeb marriages and relationships are failing, maybe people are starting to give weddings a second thought. Yeah, Aretha’s pushing 70, but yet and still, you don’t want to have to go through any messy proceedings over a rushed marriage (*Cough* Kim and Kris). Here’s hoping everything goes well with them!

Congratulations to John Legend and his girlfriend Chrissy Teigen. They are engaged, yo.

I’ve heard from many people that have met John Legend that he is a douche. So hopefully his new fiance Chrissy Teigen has been able to soften Legend’s heart a tad. Yes, the Ordinary People singer is taking the plunge and making an honest woman out of his model girlfriend.

My favorite Backstreet Boy AJ McLean got married to longtime girlfriend (come on, a year long courtship is a lifetime in the entertainment industry) Rochelle Karidis this weekend.

I knew this wedding was coming as I watched the tweets from AJ and company pour out these past week or so, but I have had some hard times coming to terms that the guy I swooned over for years has now been snagged up for life. Sigh. At least this girl is cute and at least she seems to be good for him. If AJ is happy, then I’m happy. It just should have been me, but whatever. Jeff Probst and Lisa Ann Russell are now married. Who the eff is this Russell character? Doesn’t her name sound familiar? It sure does to me. When I took a little looksie at this girl’s bio, I knew I remembered this chick. Russell was once married to hottie Zack Morris, aka Mark-Paul Gosselaar, whom she divorced and has two children with. Lisa was reportedly CHEATING on Gosselaar with Mr. Survivor Host!

Obviously I wasn’t paying too much attention to Probst and his love life because apparently these two crazy kids have been dating for more than two years.

They just stepped out as a couple together in September (remember their debut at Rise Theater Kids Gala in NYC?), but it’s December y’all and Rosie O’Donnell and Michelle Rounds are engaged. Talk about a quick courtship, but I suppose when you know, you know? I mean come on, Ro’s been there (in love) a time or two before, so Michelle must finally be “the one”?

Ro told her Rosie Show audience on Friday that she and her woman will tie the knot over the holidays.

I need a money guru and a stiff drink.

Kim Kardashian has taken to the blogosphere to throw in her two cents about all this wedding/marriage/divorce/money talk and you knew damn well this was coming. But before I share with you what Kim wrote, I must express to you the total disgust I feel that Kim and all of the other members of her family are giving us revolving around this money situation.

Not all of us are effing stupid. This family made a TON of money off of this wedding.

I’d like to get a dollar tally on the following:

*How much did E! pay you for airing your Fairytale Wedding episode? I am pretty sure that as a reality show star you get paid a per-episode basis and a TWO night “wedding” special brought in some big bucks.

*There were wedding photos AND a cover of Kim on the cover sans her hubby. How much for the cover? How many other magazines were you on? I guarantee those photos (and the rights) were purchased from you.

*What about the engagement photos? Those were snagged up by photo agencies and magazine outlets.

*Bridal shower photos? Yeah, exactly…

*Oh, and what about that honeymoon? Mmmhmm. Photos were snapped for that as well.

Money WAS made off of this wedding. Period.

Babwa Wah Wah, the Pippa Middleton of Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell’s wedding

It’s official! Nancy Shevell is now Paul McCartney’s wife! It was a simple wedding surrounded by close friends, including Ringo Starr and his woman Barbara Bach. Oh and speaking of Barbaras…Babwa Wah Wah was there and it was certainly quite difficult to miss her.

While everyone else sported a more neutral, non flashy ensemble, Barbara Walters pulled a Pippa Middleton with her red form-fitting gown, her fresh plastic surgery job and her newly dyed blond bouffant. She tucked in those granny sags, pulled up the support hose and Bam! Pretty fly for an 80 year old!
