Tara Reid and Denise Boutte round out the cast of indie comedy/drama HERE & NOW, the follow up to scribe Markus Redmond’s Sundance effort “If I Had Known I Was A Genius”, of which Tara also starred.
She plays Denise Woodman, a single mom who harbors complicated, romantic feelings for Michael (Redmond), a failed actor who has returned to his hometown to direct a play incommunity theater.
Denise Boutte (Meet The Browns) will play Priscilla Cosgrow, the bitter town beauty queen who has grown weary of the adulation her small town status as given her.
The plot concerns Michael Reidel, a failed actor who returns to his small hometown when his childhood best friend Stan, who is terminally ill, hires him to direct a play at the local community theater in an effort to recreate the good times they shared in their high school drama club before he dies. Michael is reintroduced to a small group of people he knew from high school and everyone’s past and present demons are exercised.
With the additions of Reid and Boutte, the cast of HERE & NOW is locked. It includes Markus Redmond, who also wrote and has the option to direct, Jasper Cole (MacGruber), AliciaMinshew (All My Children), Jennifer Elise Cox (The Brady Bunch), Luis Moncada (Breaking Bad), Ralph Cole, Jr. (K-11).
Redmond, who next appears in the indie prison drama K-11, is also a producer, along with Jasper Cole. Principal photography is slated to begin in the spring of 2013.
