Tom Cruise has an offer in hand to star in “One Shot,” a thriller about a former military policeman investigating the arrest of a sniper accused of killing five random people.
Christopher McQuarrie, who has worked on the screenplays for several Cruise films in the past few years, including 2008′s “Valkyrie,” has adapted the 2005 Lee Child novel and will also direct the Paramount project.
Cruise, currently filming “Rock of Ages,” returns to theaters in December with “Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol.”
