Tyra Banks sued
Being a talk show host isn’t all fun, games & paternity tests- just ask Tyra Banks. The model turned talk show host turned model mentor has been served. Or, in other words, Tyra better lawyer up because she’s begin sued by the mother of a guest on the Tyra Banks Show, a guest that just happened to be a supposed 15 year old sex addict.
Yes, a woman in Georgia is suing Tyra for a cool $3 million, because according to mom, her 15 year old daughter appeared without her permission on an episode of the Tyra Banks show all about teen sex addicts. Oops.
According to the lawsuit, filed October 8th in Atlanta federal court, Beverly McClendon claims the show contacted her teen daughter on her cell after she responded to the show’s website request that it was seeking teen “sex addicts.”
Her daughter was later picked up from her Georgia home in a limo and flown to New York where she was put up in a hotel. And according to the lawsuit, the moms knew nothing of what was going on and filed a missing person report with the local police after realizing her daughter was gone.
Also in the lawsuit? Said teen was never diagnosed as being a sex addict.
The lawsuit also names Warner Bros. Entertainment and the show’s executive producers as defendants, claiming negligence since the teen was paid for her appearance, but that the show didn’t get permission from the labor commissioner to employ her prior to everything going down.
The kicker? McClendon claims her daughter suffered damages because the show was “undoubtedly watched by sexual deviants, perverts and pedophiles.” And that the show violated her right to privacy by putting her daughter, a minor, on TV without permission.
