Wyclef song to Sean Penn
Wyclef isn’t letting Sean Penn get away with dissing his Haitian presidential run. In fact, Jean went as far as remaking his song “President” to include his own jab at Penn. Yep, things are getting nasty between these two, peeps.
Check out the Wyclef song to Sean Penn after the jump!
In a remake of his song “President” Wyclef performed on at Hot 97’s On the Reggae Tip Concert in New York City. And let me tell you, the lyrics aren’t exactly kind.
Wyclef sings, “I got a message for Sean Penn/ Maybe he ain’t see me in Haiti because he was too busy sniffing cocaine/ I got a message for Praswell/ Even though you don’t want to support me/ I got love for you/Even though you only kicked 8 bars in the Fugees.”
Snap!
Penn has already quickly responded to such claims saying, “Mr. Jean is clearly unfamiliar with the physical demands put upon volunteers in Haiti. As aid workers there, the notion of depleting the body’s immune system thru the use of illicit drugs is ludicrous. More specifically, J/P Haitian Relief Organization (a.k.a. JPHRO) has a ZERO tolerance policy for any and all illegal drugs. As the leader of this organization, Sean Penn has not only set this policy, but adheres to it. That Mr. Jean would make such a false accusation is reckless and saddening, but not surprising.”
About Jean’s bid to run for the presidency Penn had originally said, “I was there for those 6 months after the earthquake and so many of us on the ground wondered where (Jean) was when that kind of attention was so necessary and absent, and why he was NOT helping to keep this desperate situation in the news. None among us felt or expressed anger toward it, but rather a universal sadness for his silence, as he is America’s most admired cultural link to Haiti. As the six-month Anniversary approached, it triggered the return of the world media, and of Wyclef Jean to Haiti. He’d referred to himself as “His Excellency Wyclef Jean” and “The most famous man in Haiti” on a self-generated flier in the lead up to his troubling announcement.”
C’mon, can’t we all just get along?
