X-Factor winner signed to Epic Records

U.S X Factor winner Melanie Amaro not only has a five million dollar check (now THAT’s some prize money), but she now has signed her first record deal. The label of choice? LA Reid’s Epic Records, of course.

Yep, Amaro is officially an Epic Records artist. X Factor judge Antonio L.A. Reid will now oversee her career as he is the CEO of Epic. Now that isn’t bad at all! I love the fact that this show shells out a big fat paycheck, rather than the measly $1 million that Idol pays out AND Reid will be a major part in making Amaro a star. In addition to the big check, Amaro will also receive separate financial support for recording and marketing costs.

Simon Cowell said, “We all agreed that Epic would be the right fit for Melanie. L.A. made it clear that he wanted the opportunity to work with her and with his track record, you can’t say no to that.”

Not only will she be busy in the studio, Melanie will be busy in front of the camera once again as she will star in a Pepsi commercial that will air during the Super Bowl. Saweet!

Congratulations to her! We cannot wait to see what Amaro can and will bring to the music industry!
