Because Hugh Jackman‘s X-Men Origins: Wolverine kicked booty at the box office last weekend and is expected to do next weekend, you can bet your booty the spin-offs are already in the works. According to Variety, Ryan Reynolds‘ “Wolverine” character Deadpool, is getting his very own spin-off. Good! Does this mean we will see less of Ryan in those cheesy not-so-funny romantic comedies? Here’s hoping so!
For those of you who have NOT seen “Wolverine” yet,
Ryan Reynolds plays the Marvel superhero in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and will resurrect Wade Wilson, a cancer-stricken soldier who becomes an indestructible renegade mutant after submitting to the military’s top-secret Weapon X experiment. At the end of Wolverine, Deadpool is seen rising from the rubble and whispering “Shhh” to audiences.
However, Deadpool is not the only project in the works. Expect at least THREE other X-Men projects brought to you by FOX. Prepare for an X-Men overkill!
